Cover Letter For First Time Factory Worker

When looking for factory work, some job seekers neglect to send a resume. Including a resume with your factory job application can set you apart from the other candidates. Your resume does not have to be long. It is a good rule of thumb to limit it to one page. When it's done the right way, employers can glance at your resume and quickly determine whether you are a good candidate for the job.

1. Put your name and contact information at the top of the resume. Make your name stand out by using a bold font in a larger size, such as 14 or 18 points.

2. Create an “Objective” section. List a clear objective to let potential employers know your exact career intentions. For instance, instead of saying “To find a job working at a local factory,” your objective can read “To start a flourishing career operating machinery with a reputable and stable factory.”

3. Add a “Special Skills” section. In this section, list all of the special skills that are relevant to working in a factory environment. Skills to list include assembly line, product inspection, time management, packaging, labeling, housekeeping and machinery operation.

4. List all of your job experience in the “Professional Experience” section. List all of your factory experience first. When listing your experience, include the name of your previous employer, your job title and dates of employment. When listing your job duties, be specific. For instance, instead of saying your job duty was to lift heavy weights on a daily basis, state the total amount of weight that was lifted. Instead of saying you operated machinery, list the name of the machine. If you had to stand for long periods of time, state the number of hours you had to stand.

5. Add an “Education” section to list your educational background. If you hold any special certifications that are relevant to operating factory machinery, list them here or in a separate section labeled “Certifications.”
